Roy Sinai (b. 1965)
Eighteen years into corporate life, Roy took a sabbatical ostensibly for three
months, when he picked up a camera and took courses at the International Center
for Photography in New York. He did not return to his desk job. Since then, he has
traveled and shot thousands of photographs and put his eye to a variety of themes
–portraiture, architecture, travel and product photography. Roy has a unique
sensibility for color and form and shoots from the heart.
Roy had his first solo show in New Delhi titled “Return to Centre” at the Visual
Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in 2009. He has also exhibited in
the group shows “India Documented” in Bengaluru at UB City in 2009, and “18 by
18” at Apparao Galleries in Chennai in 2010. He is based in Bengaluru. His other
exhibitions include: Bhasha/Language – group show – April 2008 at Stainless Gallery
(curated by Dr. Alka Pande ); India Innings Experimenta(L), The Lloyd Hotel,
Amsterdam; Group show – November 2008, curated by Shai Heredia, Festival
