Abraham George (b. 1984)
Abraham did his B.Sc. in Visual communication, Loyola College, Chennai, and then
Visual design & Fine art at Julius Macwan Institute of Art, in 2004.
George currently works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in
He has earlier worked as a freelance illustrator in Chennai, working on a series of
projects for clients of J Walter Thompson, interned at Idiom Design and consultancy
a Design Firm in Bangalore, focusing on retail design, and assisted Prof. Raja Mohanty
of Industrial Design Centre, IIT Powai, Mumbai in creating 2 animation shorts for
children. Later, as Media Manager & Graphic Designer Hidesign, Puducherry, he
conceptualized, created and managed print communication.
Since 2007 he has been working as a freelance designer and illustrator. Some of my
work has included: Design for Taxxi, a designer boutique in Mumbai – contemporary,
urban, quirky and Indian designs for fashion products and accessories; Graphic
design and advertisement work for The Checkers Hotel, a business hotel in
Chennai; Illustrations for a series of children’s books for Sheila Dhir; and designs for
fashion accessories for Theodorus Pampoukas, a Greek designer and businessman,
primarily for belt buckles and leather jackets.
