B. Rohini Reddy (b.1961)
Rohini Reddy is a product of Art Faculty, M.S. University, Baroda with post-diplomain Sculpture (1990) (after doing her diploma in Sculpture from C.N. College of FineArts, Ahmedabad.) She is a celebrated sculptor who works in different mediums,like stone, terracotta and fiber glass creating her unique style. She occasionallypaints.Her large heads of typically Andhra women, whose highly stylized demeanourimmediately catches the viewer’s attention. Rohini has been practicing this styledfolkish sculpture for a long time. She has won two awards from the All India FineArts and Crafts Society, New Delhi, 2002 and 2004. She also won another honourat the Hyderabad Art Society, Hyderabad (A.P.).Rohini has participated mostly in group shows at home and abroad. After earlierexpositions at Gujarat Lalit Kala Akademi (in 1986-07 & 08); Faculty for Fine ArtsGallery, M.S. University, Baroda; the 3rd Biennale, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal (1990),Rohine went on to exhibit all over India and abroad. With such widr participation,her works have been distributed widely all over. The artist lives and works inHyderabad.
