P. Gnana (b. 1970)
Gnana was born in in the township of Neyveli, South India. He was a recipientof the LaSalle Scholarship of the LaSalle College of the Arts (Singapore), fromwhere he received his formal training in the art of painting. Since then he hasbeen a distinguished Singapore-based artist whose art is in the collection of thePresident of the Republic of Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum of theNational Heritage Board.In 2005, fourteen of Gnana’s large-scaled abstract paintings were commissionedby Singapore’s Ascendas Pte Ltd for the International Tech Park in Chennai, India.Gnana had presented a solo exhibition of his paintings and sculptures at theSingapore Philatelic Museum in February 2009. He was also a participating artistat the Racial Harmony Day Art Exhibition in 2003, and a charity art exhibition thatwas jointly-presented by Arts for Health (Singapore General Hospital) and TheGallery of Gnani Arts in 2005.Gnana has been widely covered by art critics across media in India and the Far-East; and has held many solo art exhibitions. His artworks are collected by theEast of East Gallery (United Kingdom), Lycée Français de Singapour, Coutts Bank,and numerous individual and corporate art connoisseurs.
