Rajan Krishnan (b.1967)

Rajan Krishnan completed a Bachelor`s degree in Economics, B.F.A (Painting) atthe College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram; and a Master`s degree at the Facultyof Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda.Rajan Krishnan`s art is sensitive to his immediate natural environment. His early works are slightly sentimental in their depiction of childhood memories ofhome, but this phase seems to have given way to a more assertive cynicism thatunflinchingly records the sudden and sweeping changes wrought on the landscapeshe has known and loved.Krishnan has had a Solo show at Kashi Art Gallery, Kochi, “Little BlackDrawings”,2004. His group shows include “Gift for India”, Ravindra Bhavan, NewDelhi,1997; Miniature Format Show, Gallery Sans Tache, Mumbai 1998; AnnualShow, Kerala Lalitakala Akademi, Kochi 2001; Cross Currents, daira Centre forArt & Culture, Hyderabad, 2002; Tree Festival, Fort Kochi,2002; Regional Centre,Chennai, 2003; Double Enders, JehangirArt Gallery & Museum Gallery, Mumbai;Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi; Gallery Sumukha, Bangalore and Durbar Hall artcentre, Kochi 2005. He Has also participated in many art camps and workshops,Krishnan has been awarded the Kerala Lalithakal Akademi award 2001. He livesand works in Kochi, Kerala.
