Richard Jesudoss (1939)
Richard Jesudoss got his Diploma in Fine Arts, Modelling and Sheet Metal in 1962.A painter and a metal sculptor, his earthy work of beauty is embellished by hishumanist approach, often manifesting in many projects that are Art for a Cause.He has participated in various Group Exhibitions of Artists’ Handicrafts Association,Chennai; Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association, Chennai; Collegeof Arts and Crafts Alumni association exhibition, Chennai. He took part in SmallFormat Art exhibition held at Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Chennai, as well as theVillage’s Group Shows; ‘Chinga Melam-2000’ at Kerala Kala Peedam Art Gallery,Cochin; ‘Exhibition of Paintings and Sculpture’, Chola Sheraton Hotel Art Gallery,Chennai; ‘Gems 2000’, a rare art auction in aid of General Education on MultipleSclerosis at Park Sheraton, Chennai; ‘Mere’, an exhibition to raise funds for theearthquake victims in Gujarat; Park Sheraton Hotel Art Gallery, Chennai, 2002;‘Vasanthakalam’, art exhibition at Amethyst, Chennai, also in 2002.Richard has twice been awarded the State Lalit Kala Academy Award, Chennai, in1967 and again in 2000.
