Suresh Panicker (b. 1980)
Suresh Panicker holds a BFA from the Government College of Fine Arts, Thrissur
in 2006 and an MFA in Painting from the University of Hyderabad in 2008. He uses
images of local flora in his work, which convey socio-cultural messages about our
environment. According to him, interior and exterior spaces create a sense of the
transcendence and express man’s longing for the infinite and the unsullied. He tries
to bring to light this innate nature of man.
Suresh has participated in a number of group exhibitions. He was awarded the
ACK Raja State Memorial Award in 2006 and a Research Scholarship by the Lalit
Kala Akademi, Delhi for 2008-09. He currently teaches at the College of Fine Arts,
Trivandrum.
